Well, Resident Evil has it's share of monsters and it's certainly an action movie, so not typical zombie flic.

That would be 22 February 2013 (USA), according to IMDB atleast.

Sitek wrote:Well, Resident Evil has it's share of monsters and it's certainly an action movie, so not typical zombie flic.

Well true, but the zombie-side of it is pretty much there all the time, like with Nemesis, he's not the typical zombie indeed but you it still have the biological modification side of the monster, from Umbrella Corporation that is behind the mess.

And if you go way back to RE1 on PS it's pretty much zombies and zombie-dogs.

But in the last movie it was much more weird, still a lot of zombies and such but it was more about what we learned in the end of the third one, with the thing I cannot just remember the name of in either swedish or english with making a hell of a lot versions of the same person.

Anyways, a slightly bit of OT I guess so sorry about that. :>

That's so disappointing. I was really, really looking forward to seeing the movie. A lot. :( I wish they wouldn't give a movie a release date that another movie had already claimed.

I wonder why the film was delayed. It could be that they need more time for post-production, or the studio feels that September is a better time of year to release the film. Delays can sometimes be a really good thing: Titanic was originally supposed to come out in July 1997, but was delayed 5 months to December.

With the September 2013 release, I, Frankenstein will be coming out 2 months prior to Lionsgate's hugely anticipated Hunger Games: Catching Fire. There's a very strong chance that the trailer for that film will play with I, Frankenstein. So this could be very good news:D

Any word on when the trailer for this movie is coming out? I can't wait to see pictures and footage of Yvonne in this movie. Wonder if she will be wearing glasses in this movie, since she's playing a scientist.

This! Hopefully, she really kills that look, in the good way of killing.
But I got no idea.

No, nothing yet. If they hadn't moved it from the original February release we would have something already, but now that it's not coming out until September it might be summer before we see anything.

I've been very curious about her character in this movie ever since it was first announced that she had been cast and every time I think about her playing a scientist in this movie I picture the time Sarah was briefly undercover as a scientist in Chuck vs the Sensei.

article in spanish: http://www.hobbyconsolas.com/noticias/aaron-eckhart-protagoniza-i-frankenstein-47004 it doesn't say anything new though: "Yvonne Strahovski plays a scientist that investigates how to revive corpses"
but we already knew that :)

I can't wait for this movie

I'm really excited to see what Yvonne looks like in the movie as well and I hope she has a decent-sized role in it. I wish they hadn't changed it from the original February release date. I've been really curious about this movie ever since Yvonne was first cast over a year ago.

She's been described as the female lead so it should be a pretty nice sized role. :D

I don't think that pic included with the article is from the movie I think it's from another movie from 2009, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. With the push back of the release date it's still early for stills or other promotion to be released, so it'll probably be awhile before we see anything. I am hoping that sometime in late spring/early summer we will get a trailer though.

The Most Anticipated Movies of 2013

41. I, Frankenstein

Release: September 13th

The Hook: The release date is a little iffy, but this Aaron Eckhart-starring monster movie seeks to bring a bit of Underworld flair to the famous Mary Shelley story. It even comes from the comic mind of Kevin Grevioux and features two ancient warring clans (and Bill Nighy). With any luck, director Stuart Beattie will have remembered to give it some brains and heart along with all the other parts, but the genre concept itself is cool enough to work.

"I, Frankenstein set for September 26 release in Australia
[Fri 18/01/2013 09:04:02]

By Brendan Swift

The release of Australian action-thriller I, Frankenstein has been set for September 26, almost two weeks after the US release.

The $50 million film was shot in Melbourne and stars Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy and Yvonne Strahovski. In late-2012, US distributor Lionsgate pushed back I, Frankenstein's release by almost seven months (to September 13) to make way for the release of another film.

The majority of I, Frankenstein's visual effects work is being performed by respected California-based VFX house Luma Pictures (The Avengers, Oz: The Great and Powerful), which recently established an Australian shop in Melbourne.

The film is one of the first to be co-produced by Hopscotch Features, the production arm set up by distributor Troy Lum, screenwriter John Collee (Master and Commander) and producer Andrew Mason (Tomorrow: When The War Began).

Hopscotch Features' second high-profile film, sensual drama Mothers, stars Naomi Watts and Robin Wright, and is also expected to be released later this year. Both films will be distributed by Hopscotch Films/eOne in Australia.

Distributors have also recently set release dates for a number of other Australian films including Drift (May 9 - Hopscotch/eOne), Satellite Boy (May 16 - Hopscotch/eOne), Patrick (October 17 - Umbrella Entertainment), and The Railway Man (October 24 - Paramount/Transmission)."

Not sure if this was posted here, but here's an interview with Aaron Eckhart from October 11. Sounds like he was pretty enthusiastic about it:

"Aaron Eckhart tells Moviefone he can't wait to slip into the skin of one of cinema's most famous misunderstood monsters, in his next film, 'I, Frankenstein.' Just don't expect the iconic nuts-and-bolts version from the Boris Karloff films, a look that was copyrighted by Universal. What will Eckhart's Frankenstein look like? "I really have no idea," he says. "I just signed on without even seeing it. I don't know what the make-up's going to be." One thing he's sure of: "He's a grotesque beyond belief being."

Speaking Wednesday at the 'Rum Diary' junket (check back later for interviews with Eckhart and co-star Amber Heard) Eckhart said he was initially dismissive of the idea. "I mean, I don't just jump off and do Frankenstein movies, but I read this and I thought, 'I actually really like this movie. It's a new take on Frakenstein.'"

Even though he kept pronouncing it as "Fronk-en-shteen" as Gene Wilder did in 'Young Frankenstein,' Eckhart promises that this won't be a lighthearted romp. The actor says it will draw inspiration from the original novel by Mary Shelley, although it won't be a straight adaptation like the 1994 film starring Robert De Niro.

"The thing about it is, there's no mention of [the monster's look] in Mary Shelley. This is all made-up-stuff [by Hollywood.] You go back into Mary Shelley's book and he's an incredibly soulful and insightful, tender-souled man and I hope to get more of that in there. Yes, he's grotesque beyond description, but he's a man who's been abandoned by his creator. So I hope to get more of that in it."

He then added, with a grin, "But really what it is, is I'm going to be kicking ass. It's gonna be great."

'I, Frankenstein' starts filming in February with director Stuart Beattie ('30 Days of Night') at the helm for a 2013 release."

Meh, just good with a repost. Haven't read that one before. 8-)

And cannot wait for this movie, not just for Yvonne either, I'm a huge fan of these kinds of movies and loved the 1994 version and really like the two main actors she'll be playing with.
