Lol, ya, bear with here me. This site might be over a year old, but it's the first time we've had a major changeover to a new show like this, and the first time Yvonne has been a non-main character in a TV show, so I'm still kinda new to figuring out what we want to do with things here.

Episode 7.03 - Buck the System
Dexter tries to bring Debra on board with his new target. While the Ukrainian mob seeks revenge for the killing of one of their own, Quinn grows close to a dancer at their strip club. LaGuerta, convinced the Bay Harbor Butcher is still out there, attempts to enlist Batista to help her re-open the case.

Episode 7.04 - Run
After capturing a deadly killer, things go awry for Miami Metro, sending Debra into a tailspin. In an effort to help his sister, Dexter enters into a dangerous game of cat and mouse, while the Ukrainian mob continues to seek revenge.


Dexter - Episode 7.05 - Swim Deep - Synopsis
While trying to uncover why someone was killed on his boat, Dexter must out-maneuver a vengeful Isaak. New leads are brought to light on the Wayne Randall case by Hannah McKay, Randall's alluring former accomplice who Dexter discovers has a secret.

Episode 7.06 - Do The Wrong Thing
Debra gets to know a local crime writer who's dug up some incriminating dirt on Hannah McKay (Dexter's newest obsession). Quinn gets an offer he tries to refuse and Batista is drawn to a new business opportunity. LaGuerta keeps digging into the Bay Harbor Butcher case.

Episode 7.07 - Chemistry
Quinn falls back into his old ways as he makes some questionable choices to protect Nadia. Things heat up as Dexter and Hannah grow closer, but when Sal Price discovers the two are involved, he wants the exclusive story.

Episode 7.08 - Argentina
Fresh out of jail, Isaak renews his pursuit of Dexter while Quinn continues his power struggle with the Koshkas. Dexter tries to keep Debra in the dark about his relationship with Hannah, but a surprise visit from Astor, Cody and Harrison throws a wrench into his plans.

Little article about Yvonne's character and her first appearance on the show.

Very minor spoilers ahead! When it was first announced that Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski would be joining the cast of Dexter Season 7, a lot of people jumped to the conclusion she would be playing some sort of FBI agent. Talk about being typecast by the press! Having seen the episode in which Yvonne first appears, Dexter 7.03 "Buck The System", I can now reveal that the lovely Ms. Strahovski's character, Hannah McKay, does not play any type of secret agent, does not know any martial arts, and is not packing any discernible weapons. She is, in fact, a hortacologist. Sound boring? Wait, there's more.

Hannah does indeed have a connection to a significant event that occurs in Dexter's presence during Season 7, and her connection to someone Dexter runs into and their background suggests she may yet have some history with Dexter. Aside from these more sinister clues, I can say that yes, it would be fair to suggest Hannah may represent a significant personal connection for Dexter in Season 7, and perhaps even beyond. Perhaps even on the Rita level, if you get what I mean.

Like many things in Dexter Season 7, Hannah's ultimate purpose seems to be something the writers are content unreeling slowly. By the end of 7.03, you will NOT know even how she could possibly recur, that is how tangential her first appearance seems. But keep an eye out for subtle clues that may or may not indicate a connection with Dexter. In a few words: Ice cream.

Some new details to stuff we already learned about Yvonne's character.

What can you tell us about cast newbies Yvonne Strahovski (CHUCK) and Ray Stevenson (ROME)?
BUCK: Yvonne plays Hannah McKay, who at the age of 15 was sort of an unwilling participant on a cross-country killing spree. Now, 15 years later, she falls into Dexter’s life and things start to unfold. She’s not quite who he imagined when we first meet her. She’s a much more complicated person, and she just might be the right person for Dexter in a lot of ways…. or she could be exactly the wrong person.

Here's another article from Matt Carter. This part of the article stood out:

"It’s also hard for us to look at this case without also thinking about Karla Homolka, a Canadian woman who got off with an abbreviated prison sentence after saying that she was abused and tortured by her husband and partner-in-crime Paul Bernardo. It was later discovered after the fact that Homolka was more involved in the killings of multiple young women than she first led on, but there was nothing that prosecutors could do about it. Like with the show, Homolka was significantly younger than Bernardo; however, they were married and she was in her twenties at the time of the arrest."

I've seen this implied on another website as well. Hannah might be based on this woman.
