Okay, with Dexter starting tonight, here's how we are going to do this. We're not going to do episode threads this time, primarily because Yvonne isn't in every episode and it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to fragment the discussion like that.
So, since we are not going episode threads and are instead keeping it all in the same thread, here's how we are going to handle spoilers. Once an episode begins to air in North America, 9 PM Eastern time on Sundays, you may start to talk about the content of that episode in this thread without using spoiler tags. If you cannot, for some reason or another, watch the episode as it airs on TV in North America, stay out of this thread until you watch the episode if you don't want to be spoiled.
As for before an episode airs, use your judgement on what to place inside spoiler tags. Episode summaries should be placed in spoiler tags with text above saying that it is an episode summary for, say, 7.03. When it comes to promo pics and episode stills, again, use your judgement. I would figure that we will all mostly be interested in the promo pics that have Yvonne in them, but I'm not going to stop people from posting general ones from an episode in this thread if they want to. But, when posting them, use your judgement as to whether or not that picture could be considered spoilery. I don't think the pics we have gotten of Yvonne so far don't really have much that could be seen as spoilery in them. But if, let's say, we get one later on that has Yvonne (or anyone else) holding a gun to someone's head, that could be considered slightly spoilery for some, so put that one in a spoiler tag.
If you do decide to use the tag, though, make sure you write a little something on top of the spoiler text explaining what is inside the tag. For example "7.03 episode summary" or "guest casting news" or "Spoilers about Yvonne's character" or something to that extent, just so people know what is there. Otherwise we get posts like this:
spoiler text goes here
with nothing else in the post, which is pretty useless as you have to click on the text and reveal the spoiler to know what the person is talking about.
All in all I trust you all to use your judgement as to whether or not something should be placed inside a spoiler tag, as you all did a great job with it during Chuck's run.
