Yvonne will be on Broadway from November 8th in the 75th Anniversary production of Golden Boy at the Lincoln Center Theater

Tony Shalhoub, Yvonne Strahovski and Seth Numrich are among the thesps lined up to star in “Golden Boy,” the upcoming Broadway revival of the 1937 Clifford Odets play from Lincoln Center Theater.
Numrich, who starred in LCT’s production of “War Horse,” will play the show’s protag, Joe, a promising violinist who is tempted to earn big bucks as a boxer. Shalhoub, cast as Joe’s dad, was last on the Rialto in the 2010 staging of “Lend Me a Tenor,” while Strahovski, whose TV credits include “Chuck” and an upcoming stint on “Dexter,” plays Joe’s manager’s girlfriend, whom Joe falls for.

Also tapped for roles are Danny Burstein (the “South Pacific” alum recently nommed for a Tony for “Follies”), Dagmara Dominczyk (“Higher Ground”) and Bill Camp (“Death of a Salesman”). Ned Eisenberg, Brad Fleischer, Jonathan Hadary, Daniel Jenkins and Lucas Caleb Rooney also are among the play’s large ensemble, with further thesps still to be set.

Production is helmed by Bartlett Sher, whose LCT stints include the 2008 revival of “South Pacific” and a 2006 staging of Odets’ “Awake and Sing!” Design team includes frequent Sher collaborators Michael Yeargan (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Donald Holder (lights) and Peter John Still and Mark Salzberg (sound).

“Golden Boy” hasn’t been on Broadway since its first revival in 1952. Title also yielded a 1939 movie adaptation that starred William Holden as well as a 1964 tuner toplined by Sammy Davis, Jr.

The latest incarnation of “Golden Boy” will have a run at the Belasco Theater, where the play has its world preem 75 years ago. Show begins previews Nov. 8 ahead of a Dec. 6 opening.
